Is an electronic signature on a PDF legal?
For everyday business documents, yes. The US ESIGN Act and UETA, the UK Electronic Communications Act, EU eIDAS, and Canada's PIPEDA all recognise electronic signatures on standard agreements. A drawn or typed signature placed on a PDF and shared with the counterparty is treated the same as an inked signature for most commercial purposes.
